Indication/Uses: 

1. Respiratory Tract Infections

   • Usage: Azithromycin is commonly prescribed for bacterial infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, such as:
     • Acute bacterial sinusitis
     • Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis
     • Community-acquired pneumonia
     • Pharyngitis/tonsillitis

2. Skin and Soft Tissue Infections

   • Usage: Effective in treating uncomplicated skin and soft tissue infections, including:
     • Impetigo
     • Cellulitis
     • Erysipelas

3. Sexually Transmitted Infections

• Pediatric Dosage:
  • Dosage is based on body weight and the specific infection being treated, typically given as 10 mg/kg on day 1 followed by 5 mg/kg on days 2 to 5.
